UNRWA is a United Nations agency established by the General Assembly in 1949 and is mandated to provide assistance and protection to a population of some 5.8 million registered Palestine refugees. Its mission is to help Palestine refugees in Jordan, Lebanon, Syria, West Bank and the Gaza Strip to achieve their full potential in human development, pending a just solution to their plight. UNRWA’s services encompass education, health care, relief and social services, camp infrastructure and improvement, microfinance, and emergency assistance. Supervisor: The incumbent is reporting to the Programme Coordination & Evaluation Officer (P3).
Responsibilities
In accordance with established Agency policy and procedures the incumbent: ِA) Anticipated outputs: – Advises her/ his supervisor on all matters related to the emergency grant portfolio, including assisting her/ him in planning, managing and monitoring day-to-day financial and accounting operations related to these grants. – Calculates, checks, reconciles and analyses financial and related data for projects as requested by the supervisor, complies and maintains detailed financial/ budgetary data for various grants, with a focus on those related to emergency response. – Monitors and processes the budgetary allocation for various projects, and checks availability of funds for various documents including contract proposals, list of requirements, purchase orders, special service agreements, service contracts. B) Nature and level of external and internal contacts: – Liaises with the staff at Field and HQ departments and coordinates financial action as and when required. – Provides guidance and support in response to queries raised by project leads and by HQ on matters concerning project budget issues and performs necessary corrective actions. – Prepares various reports related to projects budgets for the use of donors and concerned Field/HQ department; assembles and maintains budgetary and financial records, project proposals and quantitative data and converts such data for use in the budgets.

Education
A university degree from an accredited educational institution in accounting, finance, or related field.
Work Experience
Four years’ experience in a finance, budgeting or accounting office of a governmental, international, or commercial organization is required. -Please confirm if you live/ reside in West Bank or Jerusalem? Languages
Excellent command of written and spoken English and Arabic.
