Assistant Building Manager
School Of Business – Office Of The Dean
Location: New Orleans, LA
Summary
The Assistant Building Manager, under the direction and supervision of the Facilities Manager, assists with managing, coordinating, and overseeing all aspects of daily building and facility operations. Duties include, but are not limited to performing walk-through building inspections, operational configuration, and maintenance of faculty space, including organizing, placement, and/or rearrangement of furniture, fixtures, and other moveable classroom contents, managing the academic service workroom/copy center, as well as ordering, tracking and maintaining inventory of all equipment, materials, and supplies. The position also serves as the liaison between Tulane Facilities Services and janitorial services sub-contractors, providing direction, guidance, support, and fiscal oversight as needed to ensure timely and efficient completion of work orders and other contract-related deliverables.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
• Good organizational and time management skills; ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously within established timelines.
• Excellent interpersonal skills; ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and diverse stakeholders, as well as work independently.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient computer skills; familiarity with basic word processing, spreadsheets, and database software applications.
• Ability to move furniture and equipment and to lift 50 pounds.
• Ability to work evenings and weekends, as needed.
• Basic math skills; ability to manage expenditures.
Required Education and/or Experience
• High School Diploma/Equivalent and three (3) years directly related experience.
Preferred Qualifications
• Associates Degree
• Three years’ facilities management experience.
Compensation Information
