Position Description:
The program of Enteric Infections and Vaccines under the Infectious Diseases Division conducts research with Mucosal Immunology and Vaccinology Unit (MIVU) for immunological and molecular genomic analyses for different enteric organisms. To achieve this goal icddr,b is working for controlling enteric infections, detecting and controlling emerging and re-emerging infections with the collaboration of the relevant government and non-government stakeholders.

The Assistant Coordination Manager will report to the Senior Scientist/Project Coordinator and will be responsible for planning, organizing, and coordinating all administrative activities of different projects under MIVU, IDD for Dhaka and Field Offices with the objective of conducting high-quality research and implementation of the project activities within the strategy of specific research protocol as well as organizational values and guidelines. The position will be based in Dhaka Office with frequent travel to all the field sites and field offices in Bangladesh. S/he will be involved in –

  • Ensure administrative support and services as per project requirements;
  • Monitor and ensure expenditures are made according to budget provision and forecast fund requirements as per Centre and Donor policy;
  • Maintain liaise with relevant stakeholders i.e. Finance, HR and Supply Chain Management;
  • Identify areas of improvement; Take appropriate corrective/preventative action;
  • Understand the study/project requirements in advance (timelines, resources etc.) of the unit;
  • Provide logistics support to ongoing and upcoming project/study activities;
  • Manage Cost management, and HR Requisitions for existing staff members and new positions;
  • Coordinate field site administrative and financial activities.
  • Coordinate Fixed Asset management of MIVU and;
  • Coordinate disposal of assets through Procurement;
  • Supervise and guide support staff on daily tasks;
  • Set goals, conduct appraisals and confront poor performance in a positive manner;
  • Organize training for team members in order to build a productive support team.

Required qualifications and experience:

  • Masters in Commerce/MBA with good academic records;
  • At least 5 years of work experience in handling administrative and logistics support to projects in the field of Vaccine Sciences. Work experience in large vaccination campaigns in logistics management will be an added advantage.

Contract Type and Duration:

  • Fixed Term; duration will be 1 Year with a possibility of extension subject to availability of funds and performance.

Salary & benefits:

  • Annual Tk. 15,31,970/-inclusive of house rent, conveyance, and other admissible benefits;
  • 14.8% provident fund contribution, income tax paid by icddr,b, children allowance @Tk.1,917/- per child per month, festival bonus, contributory healthcare support including dependent spouse and children, group life insurance, and subsidized canteen. Transport and daycare facilities are subject to space availability.
