Organisation summary:

Language and Learning Foundation (LLF) was founded by the dynamic Dr. Dhir Jhingran , an ex-IAS officer who has spent over 20 years in education. He was the Director of Elementary School Education (Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan, Ministry of Human Resource Development) and the National Coordinator, Right to Education. He went on to conceptualize, design and implement a Literacy Instruction program for 9 countries at Room to Read, before pursuing his PhD in Education as the Secretary of Assam. He was the National Advisor to the Ministry of Education, Government of Nepal, before he decided to set up the Learning and Language Foundation.

LLF was founded in partnership with Central Square Foundation with a vision to develop strong foundational language and literacy among all children to facilitate thinking and reasoning. Over the years LLF has evolved from a grantee to a key partner for Foundational Literacy for Central Square Foundation. Its research and reputation in the early learning space and multilingual education has translated to partnerships with the six states (Chhattisgarh, Haryana, Bihar, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and Gujarat) and has garnered the support of education philanthropy like Tata Trusts, HT Parekh, Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and UNICEF. LLF’s “Learning Improvement Program in Haryana” was awarded the “Best Field Based Initiative in South Asia” at CIES 2019 and evolved to become the first CSR-funded education Development Impact Bond (DIB). Recently, LLF has won the prestigious HCL Grant – The Fifth Estate to work towards inclusion of children’s home languages in teaching and learning in primary classrooms.

The National Education Policy, 2020 has announced the set-up of the National Foundational Learning Mission (FLN) to ensure basic reading skills and numeracy in all students by grade 3 by 2025. LLF has been recognized as an advisor and literacy partner to the government for this mission and is at a pivotal stage of its growth. LLF is looking to hire passionate professionals interested in working with education leaders, marquee funders, and governments to create tangible change in learning outcomes.

Position Overview:

Executive Assistant to the Founder and Executive Director will be pivotal in assisting the Executive Director in all aspects of their responsibilities, including preparation for important meetings, follow-up within and outside LLF, and pursuing projects in association with other teams. The ideal candidate will be a dynamic multi-tasker with exceptional organizational skills, capable of working effectively under tight deadlines and maintaining high confidentiality and professionalism.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Project Support: Support special projects and initiatives as requested by the Executive Director, collaborating with cross-functional teams to achieve project objectives.
2. Presentation Preparation: Collaborate with the Executive Director and other relevant team members to create compelling and visually engaging presentations for external audiences, ensuring alignment with LLF’s branding and messaging.
3. Document Finalization: Assist the Executive Director in reviewing and editing various documents, write-ups, and reports, ensuring accuracy, coherence, and adherence to organizational guidelines.
4. Meeting Coordination: Manage the Executive Director’s calendar, schedule meetings with internal and external stakeholders, and coordinate logistics, and participate in important internal and external meetings.
5. Meeting Minutes: Take accurate and detailed meeting minutes during important discussions and distribute them promptly to all relevant participants.
6. Follow-up and Tracking: Assist in tracking action items and project milestones resulting from meetings. Ensure timely follow-ups with team members and stakeholders to drive progress.

Qualifications and Requirements:

1. Education: A graduate degree.
2. Experience: At least some years of experience working in a similar role supporting senior management will be preferred.
3. Organization Skills: Exceptional organizational and time management skills with the ability to effectively manage multiple tasks and priorities.
4. Preferred: Young Management Degree / post graduates in Social Sciences candidate’s who wishes to work closely with Founder Executive Director are encouraged to apply and will be given preference.
5. Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of drafting professional documents and communicating on behalf of the Executive Director.
6. Discretion: Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive information with utmost confidentiality and professionalism.
7. Technology Proficiency: Proficient in using productivity software (e.g., Canva, SlidesGo, Microsoft Office Suite etc) and other relevant tools for presentation creation and communication.
8. Adaptability: Flexible and adaptable to changing priorities, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
9. Proactivity: Self-motivated and proactive in anticipating the needs of the Executive Director and taking appropriate action.
10. Team Player: Collaborative attitude with the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented setting.

Compensation:
Remuneration will be commensurate with the candidate’s profile.
