GENERAL SUMMARY: The Assistant Director, Donor
Relations conducts a variety of essential tasks as part of a
best-in-class donor relations program that serves to further engage
and cultivate the University of Chicago Booth School of Business
donors. They are a critical source of support for the Donor
Relations team and manage or assist with projects crucial to a
successful stewardship program.
The Assistant Director is responsible for supporting stewardship
reporting. They create ad hoc reports as assigned, liaising as
needed with gift officers and program managers to collect
information and compile each report. They assist other Donor
Relations team members with stewardship reporting by collecting
information, editing, and proofing as needed.
Under the direction of the Associate Director, Donor Relations
they assist with stewardship events, maintain stewardship web
pages, and complete other stewardship projects and tasks as
assigned.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage all facets of ad hoc stewardship reporting, as
assigned. - Assist with other stewardship reporting tasks under the
direction of other Donor Relations team members. - Assist with other stewardship events, projects, and tasks.
- Maintain stewardship information in the alumni database.
- Collaborates with others to create, plan, and implement annual
leadership recognition, opportunities, vehicles, and events while
building knowledge of the University and processes. - Assess current giving levels to qualify for various societies
and programs and make recommendations to assess programs using
standard procedures. - Other related duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Minimum requirements include knowledge and skills developed
through 2-5 years of work experience in a related job
discipline. - A minimum two years of professional work experience in
advancement, alumni relations, donor relations, communications,
marketing, public relations, or similar work. - Previous professional experience in stewardship and/or donor
relations. - Experience in an institution of higher education or
non-profit. - Proficiency with the Windows environment and standard MS Office
suite. - Experience with fundraising databases such as Ellucian Advance,
Blackbaud products, or Salesforce. - Familiarity with Marketo or similar marketing software.
- Demonstrated track record of strategic and creative approaches
to tasks. - Flexible and adaptable to new projects and tasks in a changing
environment. - Excellent organizational skills.
- Self-motivated and work well with and through others.
- Work on multiple projects simultaneously, set priorities, and
meet short deadlines. - Superior verbal, writing, and proofreading skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Strong commitment to customer service.
- Scrupulous attention to matters of discretion and
