Pay: £87,921 to 97,089 per annum subject to final confirmation.

The London Borough of Havering is looking to recruit an Assistant Director for Human Resources and Organisational Development. This represents a real opportunity for the right candidate to help us to achieve our ambitions, through inspirational leadership, steering and implementing workforce strategies and initiatives which create a great place to work. It requires an inspirational and ambitious people leader with hands-on experience of steering and supporting an organisation as it reshapes and redesigns.

If successful in your application for the role of Assistant Director for Human Resources and Organisational Development, London Borough of Havering, you will be responsible for visionary leadership, strategic direction, and expert guidance on all workforce matters including leading our equality and diversity plan. You will lead a professional team, ensuring the provision of high-quality support to the Council in all areas of people management and organisational culture.

As the Council’s chief advisor on all workforce related matters, you will provide advice to our Chief Executive, senior leaders and Elected Members.

You will be an exceptional collaborator, capable of working across boundaries with various stakeholders to align strategies, provision of services and resources for the greatest impact.

You will be able to quickly command professional confidence and credibility, influencing and negotiating at a strategic, professional and political level to ensure that we are strategically aligned to deliver the very best outcomes for our residents.
