About this role: The Disability Service is looking for an enthusiastic individual to join its team of professional and dynamic Assistant Disability Advisers. The role is full time and fixed term until January 2025.
You will be responsible for provision of specialist advice, guidance and support to disabled students to reduce and remove barriers to accessing learning and teaching. You will provide front line advice and support to disabled students, students with long term medical conditions and mental health conditions on a range of issues including funding and reasonable adjustments. This will include undertaking face to face appointments as well as offer email and telephone advice. You will work collaboratively with students, academic staff, other professional services staff and external partners to develop plans and reasonable adjustments.
About you: We are looking for someone who has experience of providing advice and information to students/customers/service users and who can work effectively with colleagues and external stakeholders to achieve the desired outcomes for disabled students. You will have excellent organisational skills in a professional or specialist service in a large complex organisation and the ability to remain calm and prioritise when responding to differing complex enquiries.

There is opportunity to work from home some of the time, in line with agreement with your manager and this may change depending on the needs of the service.
