Assistant Editor – Arabic Forensics

Position description

Al Jazeera Media Network’s English Programs Team are seeking an Executive Producer to join their award winning team, you  will be responsible for managing all aspects of the in-house production, external commissioning and/or acquisition of content for a returning strand of documentaries.

Key Responsibilities:

• Create an editorial vision for the strand or series which support the Channel’s and the Network’s programming strategy.
• Manage and inspire team to contribute to and follow the vision.
• Ensure geographical and diversity balance of stories.
• Plan the sourcing of all content for strands or series (in-house production, commissioning, co-production and/or acquisition) and the staff and budget required.
• Manage the development of proposals for the content of all individual programmes in the strand and/or series in line with the editorial vision and sourcing plan.
• Manage the in-house production, external commissioning, co-production and/or acquisition of all content for the strand or series to the highest possible creative, professional and ethical standards.
• Ensure all programmes are delivered on time, within budget and in compliance with all relevant technical and legal standards.

Education:

• Minimum Bachelor Degree in Journalism, Media, Communications or related field

Experience:

• Minimum of 9 years’ experience in TV or related fields including at least 5 years directing and producing factual programmes of an appropriate type (documentaries, discussions or magazines),
• Comprehensive Editorial Experience and judgements
