Position Summary
The Assistant Education Manager works as part of a close-knit education team alongside the Education Manager, Livestock Coordinator, and seasonal education staff. Together, the team delivers approximately 600 programs annually, reaching nearly 10,000 participants.
This position is responsible for teaching a wide range of farm-based educational programs, assisting with department administration, and caring for program livestock and our education garden. The ideal candidate is excited to work directly with a wide range of people, enjoys building and improving systems, and is comfortable rolling up their sleeves in a dynamic farm environment.
We emphasize place-based, hands-on learning experiences for all ages, and run programs featuring sustainable agriculture, animal encounters, food security, and more. Our outdoor programming runs in all seasons and comes in a wide variety of formats. This is a flexible, hands-on role well suited to someone passionate about education, farming, and community engagement within a nonprofit agricultural setting.

What We’re Looking For
While not required, candidates with interest or experience in the following areas are especially encouraged to apply: toddler care, cooking education, beekeeping, volunteer coordination, event planning, vegetable farming, or art education.
Schedule
February and April school vacation weeks, as well as May, July, August, and October, are peak periods. During these times, staff may work 40–45 hours per week and typically take additional time off outside peak periods.
