Assistant Field Coordinator

Qualifications

• MSc in nature conservation, zoology, or related field (will accept BSc and relevant working experience in place of MSc)
• Driver’s license and experience with manual and 4×4 driving
• Be available from March-September 2024 (with potential for extension)
• Excellent communication and be a good team player
• Experience in field-work, camping, and the African context is of high value
• Must be self-motivated and handle working remotely in extreme conditions
• Experience with data collection, GIS, and data analysis is highly beneficial

Responsibilities

• Assist management of field-based project including setting camera traps, pitfall surveys, VHF tracking and more
• Assist managing team of up to 15 pangolin rangers including scheduling, reporting, and logistics
• Conduct community outreach through engagement, awareness, and interviews
• Assist project manager with all related tasks
• Position based remotely in Namibia with travel and monthly town trips
