The Department of Athletics is seeking an Assistant Football Strength and Conditioning Coach. This is a full-time (1.0 FTE), 12-month, professional faculty position.
The mission of the OSU Department of Athletics is to Go Build Excellent, Authentic, Visionary Student-Athletes (GO B.E.A.V.S.).
The Assistant Football Strength and Conditioning Coach assists in the organization, administration, and promotion of all aspects of the Oregon State Strength and Conditioning (Athlete Development) Program. This position specifically assists in the design, supervision and evaluation of the Strength and Conditioning Program for Football and each specialized position the sport afford. Coaching includes instruction and athletic supervision of the athletes, program management for the specific area assigned and preparation of recommendations to the Head Football Strength and Conditioning Coach/Head Football Coach. The Assistant Coach will adhere to the policies set forth by direct supervisors, Head Coach/Director and Athletic Director, as well as Oregon State University, the PAC-12 Conference and The National Collegiate Athletic Association.
Supervise and manage the day-to-day operations of the Athlete Development Program, including teaching, coaching, and educational activities.
Minimum Qualifications (Staff) / Guidelines (Faculty):
Typically Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
Requirements :
- Bachelor’s Degree in any field.
- Minimum of 2 years NCAA or Professional full-time (GA included) strength and conditioning experience
- Minimum of 2 season of full-time (GA included) football experience
- Minimum of 1 year of load monitoring and reporting experience using, but not limited to, Catapult, force plates, In-Body, FMS, heart rate, velocity-based strength training, etc.
- Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (C.S.C.S) OR Strength and Conditioning Coach Certified (S.C.C.C.) certification.
- CPR/AED/First Aid certification.
- A demonstrable commitment to promoting and enhancing diversity.
- In past positions has demonstrated competency in the safe and effective development and implementation of strength and conditioning activities and has the necessary training to respond to emergency situations arising from those activities.
This position is designated as a critical or security-sensitive position; therefore, the incumbent must successfully complete a criminal history check and be determined to be position qualified as per University Standard: 05-010 et seq. Incumbents are required to self-report convictions and those in youth programs may have additional criminal history checks every 24 months.

- The employee in this position will often be required to lift/carry/push/pull objects weighing 200 pounds.
