End Date Wednesday 31 July 2024Salary Range £42,120 – £46,800Flexible Working Options Hybrid Working, Job ShareJob Description Summary ,Job DescriptionJOB TITLE: Assistant GI Planning ManagerSALARY: £42120 – £46,800LOCATION(S): Leeds Wellington PlaceHOURS: Full timeWORKING PATTERN: Hybrid, 40% (or two days) in Leeds Wellington PlaceAbout this opportunityJoin the General Insurance (GI) Commercial Finance team in Leeds, we’re a key centre for the GI business, working closely with Insurance & Wealth Finance to provide a key linkage on all aspects of GI. We’re part of the Insurance & Wealth division and have an exciting opportunity for a hardworking accounting professional to join the team.The Commercial team is a dynamic, engaging and highly hardworking team with responsibility across the following broad categories:
- Group Reporting and forecasting including month end reporting, half-yearly external news releases and quarterly interim management statements, quarterly forecasts, 4YOP and stress and reverse stress testing;
- Costs & Investment benefits reporting and business partnering;
- Financial control team with activities including journal processing, daily/ month reconciliations and a range of treasury related activities.
You’ll have exposure to multiple areas of the Insurance & Wealth & GI business and also the wider Banking Group. This provides an excellent opportunity for personal development, career progression, and a chance to create a real difference to the way Finance operates.. This role requires a self-starter accustomed to managing priorities, a clear-thinker who can work independently and to tight deadlines with strong interpersonal, communication and analytical skills.Day to Day you’ll be;
- Completing detailed analysis, consolidation and review of 4YOP outputs as well as challenging and modelling income assumptions and scenarios.
- Producing standard and ad hoc reports & analysis to the GI FD, GI Business Partners, & business/ divisional stakeholders.
- Driving continuous improvement and simplification of the 4YOP and forecast processes.
- Producing schedules required for Group & Insurance & Wealth Executive Committees and board.
- Operating effective and efficient control and governance processes over the 4YOP process.
- Supporting 4YOP requirements for regulatory returns, capital & liquidity processes.
- Financial Oversight of TM1 planning models and methodology including supporting IMGC annual validation process

- Finance professional with a proven track record gained in a range of roles, with a good knowledge within planning and reporting disciplines.
- Qualified or part-qualified accountant with relevant experience.
- Commercial awareness – Experience of and understanding of market and industry environment.
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Excel and good knowledge of PowerPoint
- Good understanding of finance systems, architecture and processes.
- Ability to communicate and influence effectively at senior levels.
- Strong self-management and organisational skills.
