The Assistant Grants Accountant will work as part of the finance team to provide financial management support to grants programs by ensuring timely and accurate budgeting reporting and monitoring of compliance requirements.
This role will involve assisting the Grants Accountant in various financial tasks related to grant programs.
Qualifications / Skills required:
- Tertiary qualifications in accounting, finance, commerce, or a related field.
- Membership of a professional accounting body (e.g. CA/CPA Australia) or working towards it.
- Knowledge of grant management principles, including grant acquittals and compliance requirements.
- Experience in preparing financial reports and budgets.
- Understanding of both management and financial accounting.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the Grants Accountant in preparing annual and mid-year review budgets for grant programs.
- Help prepare six-monthly and annual grant acquittals in line with funding agreements.
- Liaise with program managers to ensure timely action on grant milestones and receipt of reviews.
- Collaborate with program managers to prepare monthly variance analysis for program profit and loss statements.
- Assist in other areas of finance as needed.
