Position Overview

Are you a dedicated and passionate manager with a commitment to creating a safe and inclusive living environment for our tauira. Massey Halls Wellington is seeking a talented individual to fill the role of Assistant Manager Residential Life.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work closely with the Residential Life Manager to ensure the well-being and engagement of our tauira.
- Foster a supportive and inclusive community within the halls, promoting a sense of belonging for all residents.
- Collaborate with staff and students to develop and implement programmes that enhance the overall living experience.
- Contribute to the maintenance of a safe and secure living environment.
- Manage emergency/crisis situations and assist in training of RA’s for incident and emergency response.
- Manage the Residential Assistants in their daily tasks and roster.
What you will bring:
- Three plus years previous experience in administrative duties
- At least two years previous experience in a support-services related industry.
- And at least one year of previous experience supervising staff.
- A current qualification in social work, youth work, tertiary accommodation or teaching is desirable.

This is a live-in role, that manages critical incidents and behaviour within the halls of residence and ensure practices adhere with the NZ Pastoral Care of Tertiary and International Learners Code of Practice 2021.
The employment setting will involve work with people across the lifespan and applicants will be required to comply with the requirements of the Vulnerable Children Act 2014 and the Vulnerable Children (Requirements for Safety Checks of Children’s Workers) Regulations 2015.
