Company DescriptionOur Assurance and Business Services practice provides a range of services including risk advisory, digital trust, external audit, finance due diligence, valuations, management accounts and payroll services to a diverse client base ranging from small businesses and startups to substantial international groups. Our client portfolio includes businesses from a variety of different industry sectors, across private and FTSE/AIM listed companies to financial services and not for profit.Our Risk Advisory practice is looking to support in the continue evolution of the established Risk Advisory team. The role will work closely with the other Assistant Managers, Managers, Senior Managers and Directors to build on the capacity and capability of the Risk Advisory team to support our clients in delivering internal audit, risk management and controls assurance solutions. The team provides a broad range of assurance and advisory activities to help our clients manage the risk over their business processes. This is a great opportunity to join a fast-growing practice and play a role in shaping the direction and future growth.Job DescriptionThis is an exciting role in a developing practice, and you will be helping to support the strategy and be part of a team who are client focused. We are looking for candidates from a diverse range of backgrounds, but who have an enthusiasm and passion to what they do; have the ability to apply their experience to intelligent solutions to the organisations they work with. We seek broad experience of risk and control, from controls assurance to controls transformation, risk-based internal audit to risk management guidance and advice, with individuals who have a strong methodological base.You will be joining a growing and ambitious professional services team with a strong emphasis on its people and their development. You will work with some of the UK’s most interesting companies and will have a role in developing the future of our Risk Advisory practice, working in collaboration within Assurance and Business Services and the wider Evelyn Partners, sharing of ideas, developing solutions. The role will be based in London but will operate nationally.Key aspects and responsibilities of the role will include:Business/Practice Development

  • To support on developing responses to invitations to tender.
  • Have/build network (internal and external).
  • To play a supporting role in the development of the graduate team.

Client Relationship

  • Have a role in building strong client relationships, ensure they receive an efficient and proactive service and that client expectations are met.
  • To add value to the client relationship, identifying and developing opportunities to improve the clients’ businesses and/or develop additional services for Evelyn Partners.
  • Deliver client assignments, ensuring exceptional client service and being able to support delivery across a portfolio of clients.

Technical

  • Delivering high quality internal audit assignments across a broad client base.
  • Developing junior team members to reach their potential.
  • Awareness of commercial aspects of the clients’ businesses and impact on our work.
  • Be able to adapt and tailor risk advisory solutions for clients.
  • Contribute to the development of the Risk Advisory capability in Evelyn Partners.
  • Supporting the client administration processes.
  • Be able to manage delivering on a portfolio of work and balance and prioritise conflicting priorities.

Staff Management

  • Play a role in supporting the building and development of the Risk Advisory team, identifying training and development needs and having a role in building capacity and capability for more junior members of staff.
  • To delegate appropriate work and provide appropriate mentoring to more junior staff, aiding their development.
  • Have a role on client assignments and supporting more junior members of the team.

Training and development

  • Play an active role in personal development.
  • To support in the development of training and graduate recruitment needs of the team.

Key Competencies:

  • Planning and organising – to ensure all client work is carried out within the appropriate timescales through continual monitoring of progression of the work. Delivery for a portfolio of clients, to oversee the end-to-end internal audit or control assurance engagements, from planning through to fieldwork and reporting.
  • Technical expertise – background in core internal audit and related risk advisory methodologies. The ability to translate this into clear deliverables. To be able to answer staff and client technical queries and make appropriate technical decisions, seeking guidance where necessary.
  • Commercial awareness – to have an understanding of the commercial factors affecting the client and to be able to monitor the commercial effectiveness of work done by Evelyn Partners by reviewing costs against budget.
  • Teamwork – working as part of a team to ensure the department as a whole meets its objectives and all client demands are achieved.
  • Problem solving – technical knowledge to resolve client issues and organisation to be flexible to meet client and management demands.
  • Customer focus – ensuring clients expectations are met, by providing a first-class service at all times.
  • Business Development – ability to develop trusted advisor status with clients.

  • Experience, ability and willingness to work across a range of sectors.
  • Experience of (and appetite for) business development activities such as supporting proposal documents and attendance of networking events.
  • Good working knowledge of skill requirements of staff at various levels to ensure work undertaken by appropriate individual.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Leadership skills and be able to lead, manage/motivate the more junior members of the team.
  • Motivated self-starter with ambition to successfully continue to progress your career.
  • Ability to deliver against agreed performance metrics.
