General Background

UNHCR Netherlands is looking for an experienced and result-oriented colleague who will support the development of partnerships with companies within the Private Partnerships & Philanthropy team (Private Sector Partnerships Department UNHCR Netherlands). This role concerns a maternity replacement for seven months.

UNHCR (United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees) is the refugee organization of the United Nations. Founded in 1950 and working in over 135 countries to help and protect people who are forced to flee. Currently, a record number of over 114 million people are forced to flee conflict and persecution. Therefore, our work is more important than ever.

UNHCR has traditionally been funded by voluntary contributions from member states. In addition, due to the enormous growth in the number of people fleeing, fundraising in the private sector has become increasingly important. For the coming years, UNHCR’s ambition is to grow from $1 billion to $2 billion in private donations worldwide. We offer you an opportunity to contribute to this growth in a driven, professional, and dynamic team.

This position is a maternity replacement for the Assistant PPH Officer (Corporate Partnerships) and gives an excellent opportunity to establish, cultivate and manage relationships with corporations, thus helping to secure revenues for UNHCR programs worldwide.
The Private Partnerships & Philanthropy team consists of seven people and is responsible for strategic partnerships with high-net-worth individuals, foundations, funds and corporations, as well as income from bequests. Both the team and income from donations have grown significantly in recent years.

Because of the opportunities we see in corporate partnerships, UNHCR Netherlands is looking for an experienced and driven colleague who can further develop and implement our strategy and activities in this area.

Purpose and Scope of Assignment
