Location Glasgow HQ, G2 5AD / HybridSalary from £30,000Help us create a better future, quickerYou’re early in your Product Design career, but that doesn’t mean you’re not already forming a solid understanding of the core principles of visual and interaction design. You’re developing your conceptual eye and while you might not always know why something looks good, you know when it does.You’ll be part of the product design team at ScottishPower where you’ll help support our products look and feel and the user experience along with assisting the development our visual brand identity.You’ll work closely with other designers, product owners and developers using scrum methodologies to deliver best in class digital experiences for millions of customers.What you’ll be doing

  • Designing in response to problem statements and product goals
  • Assisting the team to create user stories, personas and storyboards
  • Supporting other designers to create user journey maps, user flows, feature flows and sitemaps.
  • Assisting the creation of digital ecosystem maps
  • Designing prototypes and wireframes
  • Designing high fidelity user experiences
  • Support the team in the creation of atomic design libraries and patterns
  • Supporting other designers usability testing
  • Supporting other designers with desirability testing
  • Assist the development of your products’ user flows while working as a team across your assigned business units to ensure a cohesive experience
  • Acting as the voice of the user, taking a data-driven approach to design.
  • Champion human centred design.
  • Help shape the future of utility in the UK

What you’ll bring

  • Basic understanding of design tools.
  • Mac literate with intermediate level use of Sketch, Figma & Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Basic knowledge of the design process.
  • You’re building confidence in your intuition and starting to user test prototypes.
  • You understand some basic design principles and how specific patterns influence behaviour.
  • You’re starting to appreciate the importance and influence design has on things like SEO and accessibility.
  • You have basic knowledge of native applications such as iOS and Android.
  • You have a basic experience of using and developing design systems.
  • You’re starting to understand our users through our research insights and data.
  • You’re building confidence in presenting your work and walking through your design decisions.
  • You’re starting to grow your understanding of the product vision and what high level problems we’re trying to solve for our users.
  • You have a basic awareness of Agile practices, ideally having worked in a cross-functional team.
  • You’re starting to appreciate how your work affects our overall success of a project.

Minimum Criteria (Mandatory)

  • Formal User Experience Certification or equivalent
  • Intermediate level user of Figma & Adobe Creative Cloud
