Department Summary | The Department of Personalized Health and Well-Being is filling this gap by bringing together an interprofessional team to develop innovative educational programs and research endeavors that focus on merging evidence-based lifestyle medicine with National Board for Health and Wellness Coaches (NBHWC) coaching competencies. Our graduates will have foundational knowledge and skills that will prepare them to empower others to mobilize internal strengths and external resources in order to achieve true self-care reform. |
Position Summary | The Department of Personalized Health and Well-Being at the University of North Texas Health Science is searching for a full-time, 12-month, faculty position to teach in the Master of Science in Clinical Nutrition Coordinated Program in Dietetics. This position will be a hybrid of weekly remote and in-person time on the HSC campus. |
Minimum Qualifications | · Minimum of master’s degree in nutrition or related field · Registered Dietitian by Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) criteria · Minimum of 2 years of practice experience as a registered dietitian · Experience teaching nutrition and dietetic courses or precepting dietetic interns · Commitment to the core Values and Behaviors of the UNT System. |
Preferred Qualifications | · Earned doctorate in dietetics, nutrition, applied nutrition or a related field of study from a regionally accredited institution of higher education · Previous experience with ACEND accreditation · Online teaching experience · Active record of research and scholarship |

Job Duties
Description of Job Duty | Responsibilities include teaching, research and service such as the following: · Collaborate with other faculty to develop course materials. · Develop and maintain competence in distance education pedagogy and recommended practices. · Teach graduate courses in nutrition. Specific courses may be in clinical nutrition, nutrition assessment, community nutrition, nutrition education and counseling, leadership and management, food science, interprofessional collaborative practice, and other special topics in nutrition and dietetics. · Provide guidance for fulfillment of ACEND standards including continuous quality improvement of program outcomes. · Advise and mentor student research and/or culminating experiences. · Engage in research and scholarly activity, and professional service. |
