Offer Description

We are looking for a new colleague specialising in social and/or political philosophy. The position is open to candidates with various specialisations, both in terms of research themes and in terms of methodological approaches, such as critical social theory, democratic theory, theories of justice, historical, intercultural, analytical, continental approaches, etc.

Your job
You will be embedded in the Ethics Institute of the department of Philosophy & Religious Studies . In particular, you may be asked to conduct a relatively large share of your tasks within the PPE programme .

We highly value interdisciplinary collaboration. Your research specialisation should facilitate collaborations within one or more of Utrecht University’s research strategic themes (Institutions for Open Societies, Dynamics of Youth, Pathways to Sustainability, Life Sciences) or focus areas .

We highly value connecting our research and teaching to societal stakeholders, in various forms of public outreach and engagement, collaborative research projects, etc. This is as much a contribution to society as an enrichment of our own fundamental research. For a sample of our work in the area, please visit the website of our various research and impact themes .
