Primary Duties and Responsibilities:	The College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences at Belmont University is seeking applications for a tenure-track faculty position in Christian ethics at the rank of Assistant Professor beginning August 1, 2024. Belmont intends to become the leading Christ-centered ecumenical university in the world. To support this aspiration, we are seeking a candidate with a terminal degree or ABD in Christian ethics. This person will (a) demonstrate the knowledge, ability, and desire to teach courses in Christian ethics; (b) have a record of producing scholarship in Christian ethics that is excellent and significant; (c) articulate a compelling description of the relationship between Christian theology and Christian ethics; and (d) articulate a compelling theological vision of Christ-centered student-focused education in an ecumenical context. While not required, preference may be given to candidates with expertise in the area of theological bioethics and/or the relationship between technology, society, and human formation. Job responsibilities include teaching courses in the School of Theology and Christian Ministry, the general education program, and (depending on the candidate selected) in the Thomas F. Frist, Jr. College of Medicine. Teaching experience at the college level is strongly preferred.
