The University of Pittsburgh’s Joseph M. Katz Graduate School of Business, Finance Area seeks a tenure-stream Assistant Professor of Finance to teach/instruct graduate and undergraduate courses in Finance, with particular emphasis on Corporate Finance. Will carry on an active program of scholarly research to maintain a Scholarly Academic (SA) qualification status in accordance with AACSB guidelines. Will also work with graduate and undergraduate students beyond the classroom as may be appropriate to their educational needs. May also serve on departmental and University committees to further the academic mission.

Must have a Ph.D. degree (or foreign equivalent degree) in Finance plus one (1) year of experience in a related college/university position.

Experience must include: (i) research experience in finance, including the ability to publish scholarly research in Katz-designated “A” journals; (ii) teaching Corporate Finance at the undergraduate or graduate levels; (iii) using cutting-edge tools in statistics for causal inference including instrumental variables, difference-in-difference, and regression; (iv) statistical methods for big data; (v) an innovative research agenda at the frontier of Corporate Finance; and (vi) engaging with students within and outside the classroom.

Must also have a commitment to service beyond the classroom and willingness to pursue service projects both to the School/University and the profession (e.g., participation in the peer review process through journal referee and editorial work and conference discussions) as well as making presentations at relevant seminars, workshops, and conferences.

Must also have an established or emerging record of relevant publications in peer-reviewed journals.

Experience can be concurrent.
