The Niels Bohr Institute at Faculty of Science, the University of Copenhagen is looking for an Assistant professor within semiconducting spin qubits and integrated circuits involving semiconducting components for the Novo Nordisk Foundation Quantum Computing Programme (NQCP).

About us
The newly established Novo Nordisk Foundation Quantum Computing Program (NQCP) is building a talented and diverse international team to create a cutting-edge program in the heart of Copenhagen, Denmark. At the Niels Bohr Institute, University of Copenhagen, where the formulation of Quantum Mechanics was born 100 years ago, the ambition is to build a programme involving exciting innovations at every level, from the quantum processor to the quantum-classical interface and all the way quantum algorithms and applications.

Tasks
The successful candidate will lead the spin qubit and semiconductor platform development at the Centre hub of NQCP. The main scope of responsibility is to build up both laboratory facilities and an international network of collaborators centring on semiconductor system engineering, including running measurements, data tracking & analysis, and reporting. We seek an outstanding scientist with a strong experimental background within spin qubits and cryogenic systems (e.g., designing and/or operating cryostats, electric and/or optical control of cryogenic devices).

The NQCP efforts on the spin qubit and semiconductor platform will be closely coordinated with chip fabrication, characterization, theory, and simulation teams. There will also be fruitful synergy with superconducting and photonic qubit platform teams.

Process
Assessment of applicants will primarily consider their level of documented, internationally competitive research. The ability to attract external funding will be considered together with outreach qualifications. Teaching qualifications are not mandatory but documented teaching qualifications and teaching experience will be considered.

Six overall criteria apply for assistant professor appointments at the University of Copenhagen. The six criteria (research, teaching, societal impact, organisational contribution, external funding and leadership) are considered a framework for the overall assessment of candidates. Furthermore, each candidate must be assessed according to the specific requirements stated in the job advertisement.
