Morrison Water Services is currently looking to recruit a Assistant Quantity Surveyor to work on our Thames Water Capital Delivery Framework contract in South London and based in a combination of Hampton and Maple Cross offices.
As the Assistant Quantity Surveyor you will be part of our Commercial Team who are responsible for carrying out the administration of the commercial and financial aspects of our Capital Delivery Frameworks. The role will involve working closely with the Delivery Team delivering a variety of solutions on both clean and waste infrastructure projects.
As the Assistant Quantity Surveyor you will be responsible for the measurement and reconciliation of subcontractor accounts, material and plant costs. You will also be responsible for collation, coding and supply of plant, material and labour site returns to Quantity Surveyors on various projects. You will assist with subcontract order and payments process. You will support with the creation and maintenance of Project Procurement Schedules, under direction, to aid Commercial and Operational Team in Delivery.
You will be responsible for the provision of accurate and timely data to support the creation of interim and final account applications and month end reporting. You will provide assistance with initiating the Pre-Qualification process through communication with third party suppliers and internal Supply Chain team. You will also provide assistance with the management, preparation and distribution of Subcontract tender enquires.
You will liaise with other members of the wider internal Project Teams and customers (General Public and Thames Water Utilities Ltd). You will undertake costing activities, under direction, to support the Quantity Surveyors in Change Control submission to the client. You will provide assistance to the Commercial Team with day-to-day commercial administration.
Do you have a BSc or HND (or equivalent) in Quantity Surveying or other equivalent commercially related subject? This is desirable but not essential
Do you have experience with civil engineering/utilities? This is desirable but not essential
Do you have good computer literacy with experience MS office including Excel, Outlook and Word?
Are you an effective communicator?
Are you proactive and take pride in the accuracy and quality of your work?
Are you able to deal with large amounts of data efficiently?
Are you a problem solver who meets new tasks with an open mind?
