Linum Consult’s client is a leading specialist sub-contractor, part of a larger Tier 1 major civil engineering group. Due to exceptional growth across the UK, they are urgently seeking a Senior Estimator with experience within the UK civil engineering market, to join their team in the West Midlands.RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assessing tender opportunities for their suitability to bid
• Reviewing tender information for the scope of works to be undertaken
• Define and quantify the scope of work and prepare comprehensive conceptual, budgetary, and firm price construction cost estimates for projects
• Undertake site visits as required to assess constraints, risks, etc. associated with the defined scope of work
• Liaising with Operations to agree suitable sub-contract packages and prospective subcontractors for work elements
• Compiling tender submission documents, including offer letters, BoQs, and/or Activity Schedules
• Engaging with technical teams to better understand their requirements for tenders, as required

PROFILE

• Degree qualification in Civil Engineering or similar subject related to construction, with a valid CSCS Card
• Around 7-10 years’ estimating experience within the structural repairs and/or specialist construction sectors, ideally with sector knowledge in bridge/concrete repairs, structural strengthening, bearing replacement, post tensioning systems, carbon fibre strengthening, external building refurbishment, jacking & propping, or cathodic protection
• Ideally have a background in operations or project experience
• Excellent IT skills, with a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office and estimating software
• Organised, methodical, and good analytical skills
• The right to live and work in the UK, with a valid UK driving license
