At Lutheran Education Queensland Early Childhood & OSHC Services we are passionate about providing quality education and care within a Christian environment to children attending our Services throughout Queensland.
Peace Outside School Hours Care, located on the grounds of the Peace Lutheran College in a picturesque location in the foothills of the MacAlister Range is looking for an Assistant Service Leader/Educational Leader to join the team.
The permanent part time role will be for 35 hours per week, during Term time and 38 hours per week during vacation care periods. The Service operational hours are 6.30 am – 8.30 am & 2:00 pm – 5:30 pm (7.30 am -5.30 pm during vacation care). The role will include regular non-contact hours.
Responsibilities include:
- Plan and evaluate Educational program for an OSHC Service.
- Mentor other staff to implement the Educational program at the OSHC.
- Contribute to the Service Quality Improvement Plan (QIP).
- Actively supervise and engage children in a variety of activities, both indoors and outdoors.
- Provide all children with a safe, secure, and welcoming environment.
- Building meaningful relationships with children, families, and the school community.
- Working collaboratively within a team to ensure the best outcomes for children and families.
- Assisting with food preparation and general cleaning tasks.
- Supporting the Christian ethos of the Service.
The successful applicants will have:
- Diploma of Childcare or equivalent.
- Previous OSHC experience desired but not essential.
- Previous childcare experience.
- Current Working with Children Check (Blue Card).
- Police check dated within last 6 months or the ability to apply for a current check.
- Current First Aid, CPR, Asthma and Anaphylaxis training.
- Knowledge of the National Quality Standards and the National Framework.
- Knowledge of National Regulations & Law
- Experience with the Assessment and Rating process
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- A professional and enthusiastic attitude.
- Ability to engage with staff, children, and families positively and proactively.
