Context

This volunteering opportunity is supported by the Embassy of Switzerland in Tunisia in the framework of the initiative launched in partnership with UNV in December 2023 to foster youth and disability inclusion through meaningful and impactful volunteering assignments with the United Nations between 2024 and 2026.
UNFPA Tunisia Country Office focus its gender-based violence strategies on generation and dissemination of knowledge for evidence-based advocacy, advocacy related to the implementation of the law on the elimination of violence against women, prevention of GBV and improvement of care services and efficient multisectoral coordination.
In order to contribute to implement these strategies, UNFPA CO needs a UNV specialist to support gender and reproductive rights team in programmatic activities such as studies, capacity building and proposals. The UNV will be mainly located in Tunis, but the support includes field visit in Tunisia governorates.

Task description

Under the direct supervision of Gender and reproductive rights, the UN Volunteer will undertake the following tasks:
-Ensure the planning and programmatic and financial monitoring of activities related to gender-based violence and the promotion of reproductive rights and gender equality.
-Provide technical support to various partners in implementing different activities.
-Compile and review programmatic reports.
-Conduct on-site follow-up visits and organize/support the organization of seminars, conferences, meetings, workshops, etc
