Job Summary As part of the Office of the Chief Real Estate Officer, supports the Executive Director in directing and overseeing the development and management of new U of U properties, to support the University’s goals of student success, generating knowledge, engaging communities, and ensuring vitality of the institution. 
Responsibilities Job Responsibilities:

  • Managing the development of new properties by researching market trends, negotiating deals with sellers and tenants, and overseeing construction
  • Managing property portfolios by identifying opportunities for sales, development, or leasing of individual properties or entire portfolios
  • Supports the Senior Director in coordinating with architects, engineers, contractors, or other consultants as needed to ensure that construction projects proceed according to schedule
  • Negotiating purchase contracts for land or existing buildings, including terms such as price, down payment and interest rate, closing date, and contingencies
  • Supports the Senior Director in reviewing financial statements to determine if projects will generate adequate revenue to cover expenses
  • Supports the Senior Director in establishing relationships with local businesses and community leaders to promote new developments
  • Recommending appropriate strategies for maximizing profits and minimizing risks when selling or purchasing real estate properties
  • Managing the design and construction of new buildings or renovations of existing structures based on client specifications
  • Communicating with clients throughout the development process to ensure their needs are met

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Business or Public Administration, or related area, or equivalency required; plus six years of progressively more responsible management experience; and demonstrated leadership, human relations, and effective communications skills required.

Master’s degree in Business Administration or related area preferred. This position is not responsible for providing patient care. Applicants must demonstrate the potential ability to perform the essential functions of the job as outlined in the position description.
Preferences Master’s degree in Business Administration, Real Estate or related area preferred. Three to five years of related real estate development experience.
