Our mission is to “Eliminate the Idea of Waste”. Operating in 22 countries, TerraCycle is a global innovator in the circular economy, specialising in recycling hard-to-recycle materials. Our programs collect and recycle almost any waste stream, including beauty packaging, disposable face masks, babies’ nappies, cigarette butts and chewing gum, which we then turn into new products – like the world’s first shampoo bottle made from beach plastic, for example.
As a social enterprise, we drive positive change by partnering with some of the world’s largest corporations such as L’Oréal, P&G and Colgate.
Job Overview
Navigate challenging but rewarding relationships with brand partners across Australia & New Zealand as an Associate, Account Management with TerraCycle.
You will be the face of TerraCycle for our clients and will work closely with our internal teams (MarCom, Operations, Finance, R&D) to launch and manage branded recycling programs that tangibly reduces waste from landfill.
This is a full-time, temporary position (6 months).
Primary Responsibilities:
Relationships
- Manage a portfolio of approximately 20 FMCG clients
- Develop and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with your clients, being the main point of contact for them.
- Liaise with global counterparts to maintain consistent delivery of programs across TerraCycle globally
Program Management and Growth
- Support with the onboarding of new clients brought on by our Business Development team
- Develop client-specific presentations with program updates and recommendations
- Liaise with our internal Public Relations, Marketing, and Operations teams to deliver to the service agreement, ensuring client expectations are met as well
- Report on program metrics (waste recycled, campaign results), in collaboration with our Operations, Marketing, and Communications teams
- Manage client expectations and prioritise requests across a range of different account structures to ensure consistency, quality, and timeliness of deliverables for assigned accounts
- Identify and present opportunities to grow programs (e.g. new campaigns, recycled products etc.)
- Manage and negotiate program contracts and budgets including invoicing and payment support as needed
- Liaising with our US-based Legal team to manage contract negotiations and renewals
- Liaise with our accounting team for invoicing and collection
Requirements
Desired Qualifications
You’re passionate about using your relationship skills to make a positive environmental impact through influencing FMCG organisations to act more sustainably.
You’ll have:
- A Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing or communications
- 2-3 years of experience in Account Management and/or Brand Management
- Experience working for a marketing agency or a FMCG company will be highly regarded
- Demonstrated experience in project and stakeholder management with keen attention to detail
- Experience managing multiple accounts and deliverables of a variety of sizes and lead times
- Problem-solving, strategic thinking skills
- Strong experience with Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, and Excel, and Google Suite
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, ability to prepare clear and concise client-ready documents
- Ability to navigate changing circumstances in a fast pace start-up- style environment
- A demonstrated interest in sustainable/green business
