Purpose of the Position:

The purpose of this post is to provide support to UNICC’s partners, support information/cyber security operations activities in collaboration with our team of information and cyber security professionals who collaborate with IT professionals from multiple UN agencies and International Organizations.

Objectives of the Programme:

The objective of the Centre is to provide trusted ICT services and digital business solutions to its Clients and Partner Organizations.

Main duties and responsibilities:

The incumbent will work under the direct supervision and guidance of the Head of Cyber Threat Intelligence (CSOI), within the Cybersecurity Division (CS) and in close collaboration with the Cybersecurity Operations team (CSO). The incumbent could be requested to do any other tasks of similar level in related fields. The incumbent will perform the following duties:

  • Under guidance, pursue actionable intelligence on current cyber threats as they relate to UNICC and partners
  • Contribute to the development of policies, security standards and procedures for a variety of security technologies and related controls
  • Prepare reports and high-level presentations for different type of audience
  • Draft CTI reports, provide analysis and interpret data from OSINT and CLOSINT sources and assess potential threats by using various intelligence collection and reporting tools and frameworks
  • Contribute to threat intelligence requirements from a Brand Protection perspective
  • Assist with the onboarding process of clients to the Brand Protection monitoring tool
  • Monitor alerts on the Brand Protection dashboard and assist with fine-tuning accuracy and relevance
  • Provide other ad hoc support either within Operational Excellence Unit or other units as required — this includes the participation in special projects or support to service deliver for short period of time basis upon request from the senior management

Recruitment Profile

Experience and Skills required:

Essential:

  • At least one (1) year of relevant experience, including proven experience in the following areas:
    • Event research and report writing
    • Brand Protection monitoring, monitoring platform fine-tuning, reporting, and escalation. Technical software support, including remote hands-on support
    • Monitoring and analysis of Open-Source Intelligence – OSINT

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of intelligence lifecycle
  • Experience with client-facing roles
  • Familiarity with OSINT investigations concepts and investigation methodologies

Education*:

Essential:

  • First university degree in Information Technology, Social Sciences or related areas

Desirable:

  • Training in the field of Digital Forensics and Cybersecurity

Languages:

  • English: Expert knowledge is required
  • French or Spanish: Beginner knowledge is desirable

Other Information

Compensation:

Annual Salary Estimation (net of tax at single rate):

  • Valencia (Spain), including post adjustment (34,3% on February 2024): US$ 51,736.

UNICC also offers generous leave and absence allowances, flexible working hours, overtime compensation, teleworking, access to training, and depending on eligibility other benefits such as relocation grant, dependency allowance, language allowance, or education grant.
