The Phyllis J. Washington College of Education invites applications for the Associate Dean to oversee day-to-day operation of the College. They oversee advising, the Office of Clinical Experiences, and the LAB Preschool. They serve on the College’s leadership team and work with several centers housed within the College. The associate dean helps with curriculum revisions and proposals, and professional development. They assist the Director of Accreditation, handle all student complaints, oversee the faculty evaluation process, and chair the College’s safety committee. The associate dean is a Montana Council of Deans member and occasionally serves on various committees for the Montana Office of Public Instruction. This position operates with a great deal of independence.

Position Details

  • Position is full-time, 1.0 FTE, MUS Contract and includes a comprehensive and competitive benefits package including Insurance package, mandatory retirement plan, partial tuition waiver, and wellness program.
  • Salary for this position is $90,000 to $100,000 per year commensurate with qualifications.

Required Qualifications

  • A doctorate in an education-related field.
  • Three years of supervisory experience in an educational setting.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with and leading teams.
  • Experience teaching in a college or university setting (Counseling, Educational Leadership, or Teaching & Learning).
  • Experience with curriculum review and development.
  • Experience with accreditation or program assessment.
  • Experience leading professional development activities.
  • Experience collaborating with school and community partners.
  • Knowledge of P-12 educational systems.
