About the opportunity

The Corporate Finance team is looking for a new Associate Director Finance to join our exciting and complex portfolios. In this role you will apply your extensive knowledge, professional knowledge and experience in the exercise of cost controls and the provision of decision support, strategic and commercial financial advice, insightful business and financial performance analysis and management reporting, financial process improvement, change management and support to the Finance Director, DVCs, PSU Heads and Portfolio management.

Your key responsibilities will be to:

  • through engagement and effective management of a team, provide effective financial leadership and advice including value-added strategic business advice, operational financial management and change management support
  • contribute to the development and implementation of structures, strategies, policies and procedures for the effective and efficient delivery of Financial Services to the DVC and PSU Portfolios
  • monitor financial performance and portfolio tracking to budget on a regular basis, ensuring portfolio management is aware of any matters of concern
  • provide leadership, mentoring and coaching to a team of staff to both support their professional development and facilitate and encourage ongoing effective work practices
  • oversee and lead the trusted business operating model including relevant analyses and impact assessment of changes
  • collaboratively manage governance and compliance issues for assigned portfolios in relation to relevant accounting legislation and internal policies and procedures.

About you

  • Bachelor’s Degree and membership of CA or CPA (or international equivalent)
  • extensive leadership, people management and development experience; extensive experience in strategic and operational financial management and reporting with a large, matrix organisation
  • demonstrated experience in financial planning, analysis and decision support which involved partnering and advising executive management teams
  • significant change management experience, and able to manage multiple senior stakeholders
  • knowledge of and experience in using Financial ERP and data warehouse, SmartView, travel and expense management system (Concur)
  • experience in reviewing business operations including financials and recommending improvement strategies.
