The Opportunity

This is a rare opportunity to join the Senior Leadership Team at Plan International Australia as Associate Director, Programme Development & New Ventures. This role will see you play a crucial part in ensuring that our partner offices have the funding necessary to jointly produce the desired impact in the communities where we operate.
To progress PIA into a cutting-edge social impact company, we are seeking somebody with expertise in leading all aspects of organisational strategy, performance, and culture.

What is it really like?

The Programme Development & New Ventures team exists to enhance our social-impact and engagement by identifying and nurturing new and existing partnerships to drive income for PIA’s work. The team is highly focused on achieving strategic, diverse and impactful influence on PIA’s partnership priorities and business developments.
The role will build upon and oversee a resource mobilisation plan that integrates a variety of institutional revenue streams from Australian, international, and multilateral sources, and manage this strong network relationships.

As a leader within the organisation, you will demonstrate a strong capacity to coordinate top managers, mentor, and coach to promote excellent performance within the team. Core to your approach will also be a commitment to working in partnership with Senior Program Managers and Country Office partners.

Our office is in Southbank. We’re looking for someone who can undertake some of their work here, and some of their work at home.

Who are you?

We are looking for a committed leader with a wealth of expertise in strategy and business growth and strong motivation to raise funds through a variety of institutional donors and partners.

The core skills we are looking for are:

  • An understanding of the network of institutional government, multilateral and private finance partnerships.
  • A high-level understanding of at least one of PIA’s domains of influence (human rights, children’s rights, gender equality, international development, humanitarian impact, climate) and processes for influencing outcomes in this space.
  • Strong relationship management skills, including experience in government and/or public service engagement
  • A strong understanding of leading new initiatives and opportunities.
  • Alignment with PIA values and commitment to social impact, feminist leadership and sharing power.

Hours, pay and start date

This is a full time, ongoing role. The role classified above award (aligned with SCHADS award). We are looking for someone to begin the as soon as possible, however can be flexible on start time.
