The Raytheon Strategy & Transformation team is seeking an Associate Director empowered to provide influential thought leadership and insight that will shape the overall strategic direction of the Raytheon business. In this strategic role you will drive primary and secondary research, insight development, messaging, and recommendations for the most critical strategic issues facing Raytheon. Example projects may include market segment prioritization / positioning, growth strategy development, financial modeling, long-range strategic planning, and / or enabling technology strategy development that informs organic / inorganic investment.

 

You will partner with Raytheon Strategy Executives and actively interface with RTX Corporate Strategy & Development Leadership, Raytheon Senior Leadership team, and Raytheon Functional Leadership team to position Raytheon as a leading global defense prime.

This is a remote position but may require proximity to a major Raytheon facility in the future. Major Raytheon facilities exist in the Tucson, Boston, Dallas, Los Angeles, Huntsville, AL, and Washington, D.C. metropolitan areas.

 

What You Will Do

  • Manage strategy development projects and matrixed teammates from project planning through strategic implementation.
  • Develop and maintain a detailed understanding of the global defense landscape, including competitors, customers, and suppliers; stay abreast of geopolitical, threat, and technology trends.
  • Proactively identify and lead analysis of critical issues facing Raytheon, providing thought direction and critical thinking, data-driven insights that shape actionable recommendations.
  • Partner with Raytheon Strategy executives to facilitate comprehensive strategy development, KPI performance measurement/attribution, and accountability across Raytheon.
  • Develop dynamic scenario models that enable decision making through quantitative analysis.
  • Assess current and future business models to make optimization recommendations.
  • Support the Raytheon Corporate Development team on the identification, assessment, analysis, and execution of mergers, acquisitions, divestiture, and minority-equity investment (corporate venture capital) opportunities for Raytheon.
  • Develop and maintain project plans for ad-hoc and recurring strategy initiatives to facilitate clear and consistent communication up, down, and across the organization.

Qualifications

  • Typically requires Bachelor’s degree and a minimum 12 years of relevant experience, or an Advance Degree in a related field and a minimum of 10 years’ experience.
  • Experience using market / economic / other data to make data-driven recommendations.
  • Experience with financial modelling, strategy frameworks, methodologies, and approaches.
  • Experience with primary and secondary research methodologies.
  • Experience guiding teams in the implementation of strategy tasks.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

 

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Bachelors’ degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Engineering, International Relations, or a related subject.
  • MBA with a concentration in strategy and/or finance.
  • Experience as a strategy consultant from a management consulting firm.
  • Experience with facilitating results in a matrixed organization.
  • Experience facilitating an organization to make challenging decisions.
  • Experience communicating with executive-level stakeholders.
  • Excellent critical thinking skills, the ability to bridge disparate data / views into a cohesive and comprehensive story, and define tangible, actionable recommendations.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent data visualization and storytelling skills to communicate complex topics.
  • Excellent Excel and PowerPoint skills.
