The International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) is an inter-governmental organization mandated with the widespread and increased adoption and sustainable use of all forms of renewable energy. At present, IRENA has 169 Members (168 States and the European Union) that acceded to its Statute, and 15 additional States in the process of accession. IRENA supports countries in their transition to a sustainable energy future and serves as the principal platform for international cooperation, a centre of excellence, and a repository of policy, technology, resource, and financial knowledge on renewable energy. The Agency implements its mandate with the view of sustainable development, increased energy security, and low-carbon economic growth and prosperity.
The Division of Administration and Management Services (AMS) is responsible for providing the Secretariat with efficient support in managing its human and financial resources and ensure effective and timely delivery of information technology, procurement and logistical services. The Human Resources Section in AMS is responsible for the provision of professional HR services for the organization, including recruitment and placement; administration of appointments/contracts, entitlements and benefits; the coordination of provision of staff development activities; and the provision of HR support to managers and staff relative to performance management. With the aim of contributing to the work of the division/service, IRENA is looking to recruit an Associate Human Resources Officer at the P2 level.
Under the supervision of Chief, Human Resources, the Associate Human Resources Officer will carry out the following duties:

Qualifications
Education: Advanced university degree in human resources management, business administration, law, social sciences or other related field. A first-level university degree in combination with qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
Experience: Two years of experience in human resources or general management are required, with at least one year of experience in an international organization setting. Experience in administering individual consultants and other complementary personnel is desirable.
Languages: Good command of written and spoken English. Knowledge of other languages would be of advantage.
