The team you’ll work with:

The HSBC Innovation Bank UK, Financial Crime Risk & Controls (FCRC) team is a First Line of Defense (1LoD) team that are responsible for identifying, investigating and monitoring relationships that pose a money laundering or terrorist financing risk to the Bank. They provide crucial support across all of our all legal and regulatory requirements relating to anti-money laundering (AML) and counter terrorism financing.

The value you’ll add:

Working as part of our wider Risk function, you’ll work within a defined team of Financial Crime experts providing holistic risk oversight to our client portfolio, primarily by reviewing and assessing sanctions and potential reputational risk cases for both existing clients and new to bank prospects. you’ll often act as an advisory board to first line of defence (1LoD). In addition, you’ll partner closely with wider Business Operations and Product teams to ensure all regulatory obligations are met and understood.

What you can expect to be doing:

Carrying out financial crime risk assessments and reviewing HSBC Innovation Banking’s high risk business categories client relationships and prospects. This includes business and country of interest reviews and PEP and Adverse Media assessment following submission of approval requests.

Working closely with our Relationship Management teams to help them to understand and identify risk within their existing portfolio and prospects.

Reviewing and responding to financial crime and reputational risk queries from the first line of defense (1LoD).

Assisting clients/prospects to ensure compliance with HINV’s high risk and sanctions requirements including internal scheduled and triggered refresh review escalations regarding client matters.

Report writing and project work.

Requirements

The experience you need:

Broad working knowledge of financial crime legislation including Anti-Money Laundering, Counter Terrorist Financing and Sanctions.

Solid working experience of financial crime compliance risk management processes.

Strong report writing expertise/ experience.

Good working knowledge of financial crime and/or fraud prevention within the UK regulatory environment.
