Associate Islamic Philanthropy Officer reports to Chief Private Sector Partnerships
Responsibilities
• Contributes to the growth of the Islamic Philanthropy (IP) initiatives by expanding the network of high-value donors with a focus on Islamic giving worldwide, giving specific attention to the MENA region and large Islamic communities/diaspora globally while adhering to and implementing our strategy. • Supports the expansion of the IP portfolio, by analyzing the market, creating targeted contact plans and cases for support, and cultivating high-level relationships to increase their value for UNRWA, focusing on Islamic entities; Assists in launching new IP initiatives, and collaborates closely with the CRM & Data Analysis Coordinator to provide quarterly reports. • Collaborates in the design and preparation of proposals, reports, and concept notes, for both existing and potential IP donors, ensuring the alignment with a donor-centric perspective, and utilizing a solid data-driven approach. Consolidates donors’ proposals and reports, submitting them in a timely manner to enhance engagement and support within the Islamic philanthropy community. • Assists in identifying strategic partnerships and fundraising opportunities amongst major Islamic donors, including charities/foundations, corporations and High-Net-Worth Individuals (HNWIs), that expected to incline to support UNRWA. This involves conducting research and outreach, and cultivating relationships. • Manages contact with leading Islamic financial institutions to maintain relationships, promoting and securing multi-year funds—primarily Zakat and Sadaqah—for UNRWA’s programs. • Monitors the market to identify emerging trends in Islamic giving, thereby capturing new business opportunities aligned with UNRWA’s Private Partnerships strategy. • Contributes to the development of support cases, and assists in designing customized Islamic giving donors’ journeys for potential Islamic philanthropy donors. • Provides support in monitoring related income, analyzing results, and adjusting the new business strategy accordingly. • Analyzes partners retention rates to proactively maintain partnerships with those at risk of disengagement. • Supports in organizing workshops, missions, compliance reviews, public events related to IP, and other internal activities.

At least four years of relevant work experience in fundraising, sales, communication, or other related fields, with an excellent knowledge in Microsoft Office are required.
