OVERVIEW OF THE FUNCTIONS OF THE POST
Under the overall and direct authority of the Liaison Officer of the UNESCO Desk in Ukraine, and under the supervision and technical guidance of the Communication and Public Engagement Division (CPE) at UNESCO Headquarters, the incumbent will coordinate and review all communication efforts of UNESCO’s action in response to the war in Ukraine at the field level. The position is meant to showcase UNESCO’s work in the areas of education, culture and information within the framework of the project.
With a view to devising, maintaining, updating and implementing a milestone communication workplan, she/he will work in close collaboration with the sectorial programmatic staff at the Kyiv Desk and Headquarters. She/he will also closely liaise with the relevant communication teams of the Resident Coordinator Office, UNCT, Government and UNESCO partners in the project implementation.
Work is performed with a significant degree of operational autonomy and initiative within the established guidelines, procedures and processes. The incumbent will organize his/her work routine and determine priorities while overall objectives and expected results will be set by the supervisor. In particular, the incumbent will:

UNESCO’s salaries consist of a basic salary and other benefits which may include if applicable: 30 days annual leave, family allowance, medical insurance, pension plan etc.
The approximate annual starting salary for this post is 38 776 US $.
