Monash Health Drug & Alcohol Service (MHDAS) is a service within the Mental Health Program of Monash Health and is committed to providing opportunities for change and growth by reducing drug use, the harms from drug use, improving physical and mental health, and reconnecting and or maintaining people’s connections to their family and the community. The principle catchment areas are the Cities of Greater Dandenong, Casey and the Shire of Cardinia with sites located in Dandenong, Pakenham, Cranbourne and Berwick. The service employs approximately 75 EFT staff and budget of approximately $13 million. We provide a wide range of services including:
- Community Residential Withdrawal Unit (CRWU)
- Primary Health Clinic
- Needle Syringe Program – fixed site and Outreach
- Mobile Overdose Response & Naloxone Service
- Mobile Drug Safety
- Hepatitis C Initiative
- Aboriginal Metropolitan ‘Ice’ Partnership
- Youth Supported Accommodation and Outreach
- Peer Led Network trials
- Assessment, Counselling and Non-resi withdrawal (SECADA) and
- Public Intoxication Health Response Trial
We employ multidisciplinary clinicians across these wide ranging services including Peer Workers with lived experience.
About the Role
The Associate Nurse Manager (ANM) will be responsible for shift by shift management of the CRWU to ensure a safe environment for clients and staff alike. They will oversee the withdrawal management, group program, support plan and overall milieu for clients on the unit. They will collaborative with their colleagues as well as external stakeholders to ensure all work is carried out in a timely, efficient, effective and safe manner. This leadership role will assist the NM to ensure that quality standards along with Monash Health’s values, vision, principle and policies are adhered to at all times. Along with the NM, the ANM will look to set, drive and maintain the professional culture and standards on the unit. You will liaise with multiple stakeholders within and outside Monash Health.

What you bring:
- Relevant Postgraduate Qualifications in Mental Health
- Current clinical mental health nursing experience
- Demonstrated clinical leadership experience for ANM roles
- Current AHPRA registration
- Ability to work legally in Australia
