Associate Practitioner Clinical Technologist-Medical Devices Unit

The shift pattern is Monday-Friday 09.00-17.00 (37.5 hours).
This is a role for a committed and self-motivated person with opportunities for varied and challenging work within the Mechanical Engineering Section of the Medical Devices Unit (MDU), a multi-disciplinary clinical engineering team. The post holder will be a member of a team providing a design, development, manufacturing, and test service for novel medical devices; and a maintenance, repair, and instrument calibration service for a wide range of healthcare equipment with a mechanical function.
Staff at this level will continue to develop and update their skills and knowledge. The post holder will be expected to attend relevant study days, short courses and presentations for generic and specific competency on a wide range of medical equipment and their impact on clinical management.
Entry requirements: A relevant science / technology-based Higher National Diploma, S(N)VQ level 4 or equivalent e.g. a relevant HNC in an appropriate subject, may be acceptable provided there is an equivalent profile of knowledge, training and experience to HND / S(N)VQ level 4.
You will normally work 37.50 hours a week, Monday to Friday. The role is based in the Medical Devices Unit, West Glasgow ACH, but will require regular travel to acute and community sites across NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde.
This is a permanent position, with the option to join the NHS superannuation scheme and generous holiday entitlement.
