Who you are

Are you a dedicated and accomplished professional in the field of First Nations Nursing? We are actively seeking individuals for the position of Associate Professor or Professor who possess a unique combination of academic qualifications, professional expertise, and distinctive personal qualities.

What you’ll do

You will have the responsibly in providing leadership and fostering excellence in teaching, research, service, scholarship and professional activities associated with academic quality in the discipline, business unit and more broadly across the University. 

With strong personal and professional ethos of integrity and compassion you enjoy working as part of a collaborative and supportive team tasked with the ongoing delivery of teaching excellence at all levels. As teaching and research academic, you will:

  • Embody teaching activities and practices that lead integration and imbed best practice/scholarly, evidence which is informed by scholarly leading practice
  • Establish a student centric approach that truly engages students in learning and embed employability
  • Provide strategic leadership and direction to other academic employees in professional practice
  • Provide relative support to our First Nations students, delivering a positive educational experience through teaching, research and ongoing engagement activities with our external communities and partners.

What will help you succeed

You will have an understanding of Australian Indigenous perspectives and significant experience working and communicating effectively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as well as:

  • A PhD in a relevant discipline
  • Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse or Registered Midwife
  • A recognised leader in this discipline area with an exceptional record of scholarly and professional achievement
  • Demonstrated teaching and research excellence in First Nations Health
  • Capability to lead and engage in discipline research initiatives that collaborates and advances knowledge with others and results in the attraction of relevant funding
  • Engage with and influences industry and government at all levels
  • Capacity to teach into the pre-registration nursing program via blended delivery.
  • Ability to conduct and disseminate research; and
  • Capacity and interest to lead community and professional development initiatives relevant to Nursing and Midwifery

Term: Full-time continuing appointment (37.5 hrs/week)

Salary:

Level D: Total remuneration range $183,158 to $201,404 pa (includes salary range of $154,759 to $170,177 pa, employer superannuation contributions up to 17% of salary and annual leave loading)

Level E:  Total remuneration $234,865 pa (includes salary of $198,449, employer superannuation contributions up to 17% of salary and annual leave loading)
