Context

UNHCR Libya’s Strategy for Protection and Solutions recognizes that the continued availability and prioritization of robust resettlement, evacuation opportunities and complementary pathways are a critical component of UNHCR’s advocacy in Libya. Specifically, direct resettlement has been a very critical protection tool which meets the specific needs of most at-risk groups. Furthermore, focus on continued development of family reunification and other complementary pathways are sought, through advocacy to expand already available programmes to refugees in Libya and addressing barriers to accessing these pathways. Access to complementary pathways such as humanitarian corridors also help prioritize the limited resettlement opportunities available for refugees with pressing protection concerns.
