Units
Bryant Group has partnered with Belmont University to seek a
dynamic and visionary Assistant Vice President for Development to
lead its colleges and units in an ambitious fundraising campaign.
If you are a seasoned professional with a passion for higher
education, a track record of successful fundraising and a knack for
building strong relationships, this is the opportunity for
you.
As the AVP for Development, Colleges and Units, the successful
candidate will provide leadership and direction for all
development-related activities within the following Belmont
University colleges:
- Jack C. Massey College of Business
- Mike Curb College of Entertainment and Music Business
- College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences
- College of Music and Performing Arts
- Watkins College of Art
- College of Education
- O’More College of Architecture and Design
- College of Law
This individual will collaborate with college deans, directors
and senior administrators to develop impactful philanthropic
agendas consistent with the strategic plans of each college.
Additionally, the candidate will lead a team of development
professionals and spearhead the implementation of a new college and
unit-based fundraising model. The successful candidate
will take on a crucial role as the primary development partner for
one to two colleges, overseeing a substantial portfolio of major
gift prospects and donors.
Job Summary
- Strategic Thinking: Collaborate with the
University Development team, inspiring trust, encouraging creative
thinking, and collaborating with staff and volunteers to
significantly increase private gifts to Belmont. - Dynamic Partnership: Work closely with college
deans, directors, and other senior administrators to develop
impactful philanthropic agendas, fostering a collaborative
environment that drives Belmont’s fundraising efforts. - Portfolio Management: Build and manage a
portfolio of 50-75 major gift prospects and donors, growing
meaningful relationships and securing significant contributions to
support Belmont’s mission. - Fundraising Excellence: Develop and execute
effective fundraising strategies that resonate with major donors,
aligning with their interests and the priorities of the colleges
within Belmont University. - Annual Giving Growth: Guide a talented annual
giving team in creating a robust program that strengthens the donor
pipeline, increases annual giving dollars, and boosts donor
participation.
Minimum Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in university advancement, fundraising
or business development. - Track record of collaboration across teams within and outside
of organizations. - Experience in managing experienced professionals and multiple
programmatic areas. - Passion for building strong, long-lasting relationships.
- Alignment with Belmont’s vision of being the leading
Christ-centered university in the world. - Willingness to travel when required.
