About the opportunity

Our Asylum Seeker Programs offer essential services for people newly arrived in our community. As a Case Worker, you will provide high quality case work support to people seeking asylum residing in our community properties creating a safe, supportive, and dignified living environment.

You will provide direct assist to asylum seekers and refugees by conducting assessments, referring them to relevant specialist services and overseeing community development activities to enhance their confidence.

What’s on offer

About you

You are looking to join an organisation that truly supports vulnerable Victorians and Tasmanians to improve their lives. Ideally you will have:

  • A qualification in Social/Welfare Work, Behavioural Sciences or a related discipline
  • A driver’s licence valid in Victoria  
  • Previous experience delivering case work support to individuals and/or families
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the issues facing people seeking asylum, including issues that relate to people who have experienced torture and trauma
  • Highly developed skills in cross-cultural communication and sensitivity to cultural issues, including experience working with interpreters
