Job description
We are looking for a Project Manager to join the Faculty of Social Science and Public Policy to play a key role in preparing the Faculty for its Athena Swan submission. Key responsibilities of the role will include gathering, analysing and interpreting staff and student data, documenting the impacts of actions and policies and contributing to writing the Athena Swan award submission.
The Athena SWAN Charter encourages and recognises organisations’ commitment to advancing gender equality in higher education. The Faculty is aiming to achieve Bronze status with its submission in Early 2025.
You will play a key role in managing the Faculty’s Athena SWAN project work, supporting the Athena Swan Lead and relevant committees, and working across the Faculty’s five schools to coordinate the production of the submission.
This is a hybrid role and the role holders will spend part of their working week on campus and part of the week working remotely

Skills, knowledge, and experience
Essential criteria
1. Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to present information clearly and concisely within defined word limits
2. Experience of analysing and interpreting quantitative and qualitative data
3. Excellent organisational and co-ordination skills with the ability to manage competing projects and deadlines
4. Excellent IT skills and the ability to use Microsoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint to produce written reports, graphs, tables, charts and presentations
5. Ability to analyse and interpret statistics
6. Experience of leading and managing projects
7. Excellent interpersonal skills, with ability to build credibility and rapport and influence key parties, whilst working with sensitivity and tact to maintain effective working relationships at all levels
8. Experience in writing formal project documents, including plans and reports
9. Experience of coordinating and managing meetings including timely preparation and distribution of agendas and papers, taking minutes and setting up processes to track and follow up actions
10. The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
11. Ability to comprehend complex situations quickly and to provide creative solutions where appropriate
