Headquartered in Barcelona, the Institute for Integrated Transitions (IFIT) is a non-governmental organisation dedicated to helping fragile and conflict-affected states achieve more sustainable negotiations and transitions out of war or authoritarianism. IFIT’s core work is to serve as an expert resource on integrated policy solutions for locally-led efforts to break cycles of conflict or repression.
IFIT is currently looking for a creative and motivated audio-visual communications intern to join our team in the Barcelona office for a period of 3 months, starting in September 2024.
The selected responsibilities will include:
- Brainstorming and researching ideas for original content on how to communicate IFIT´s work and develop new strategies for increasing engagement.
- Pre-production, production and post-production of video materials, including planning, video recording, audio recording, editing and basic motion graphics.
- Contributing to the development of visual communications products such as infographics and social media assets.
- Supporting the team in other communications related tasks as needed.
Conditions:
Although the internship is unpaid, IFIT offers: 1) reimbursement of travel to or from Barcelona for the purposes of the internship (up to a maximum of 500€), and 2) partial offset of specific living costs incurred by undertaking the internship in Barcelona (up to a maximum of 900€ per month).

Qualifications and Requirements:
- Enrolment in or completion of a degree in a relevant audiovisual, film production or video journalism programme.
- A strong passion for audiovisual production and willingness to learn.
- Ability to transform complex narratives into easily understood visual output.
- Ability to conceive of visual content for different audiences and channels (e.g. social media, newsletters, website or print media)
- Proficiency in at least one professional editing software, like Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve or Final Cut.
- Basic knowledge of cameras, audio equipment, and lighting techniques.
- Ideally with some experience in digital design, community engagement programming preferred, and/or image editing software like Photoshop and/or Canva.
- Strong English-language skills. Other languages are an asset.
- Detail-oriented, collaborative, organised and reliable.
