These positions are to be filled at Headquarters, regional bureaux, country offices and field offices. The holders of the position report to the Communications Officer.
At this level, the holders must demonstrate responsibility and initiative to respond autonomously to queries with only general guidance in relation to all modalities of assistance, both for WFP logistics services and for common services. They are required to use good judgment in the face of unforeseen problems that may arise on a daily basis. The job holders generally manage a small team, supervising and instructing its members.
JOB PURPOSE
- Provide specialized research and communications services that support the creation of content and services aimed at maintaining and improving WFP’s visibility and reputation and supporting fundraising activities.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES (not all-inclusive)
- It is responsible for ensuring that all audiovisual/graphic material that is published to give visibility to PMA is aesthetic, and is curated according to the guidelines.
- Design the plan to be executed in the digital/av line under the strategic communications plan line, focused on its areas of action (social networks, graphic design, creative communication) and prepare reports with metrics.
- Prepare the calendar of communication activities (which may be subject to change) to make PMA visible on social networks and other digital channels.
- Carry out all actions related to digital/av communication, providing creative elements under global guidelines: propose ideas, provide support and guarantee the effective implementation of graphic, videographic, filmographic, photographic and radio projects.
- Act as information coordinator and provide support and/or coordinate the coverage of field activities to make PMA visible on social networks and other media as required.
- Organize in close collaboration with colleagues in the city and on the ground, external partners any activities that need to be covered, ensuring that they are correctly scheduled and given due visibility.
- Create and manage attractive visual content for digital platforms, social networks and other communication channels.
- Produce and design graphic content such as infographics, banners, images, brochures, short video presentations, among others, for use on digital platforms, social networks, as well as printed graphic material of any type, to make PMA’s actions visible, guaranteeing visual coherence with institutional messages and brand identity.
- Define and communicate digital communication guidelines for WFP staff to use as a reference when creating digital content in the field.
- Update and develop internal databases and records corresponding to the nature of your role, ensuring that the information is accurate, well organized and accessible to the team (photographs, videos, graphic material, etc.).
- Generate creative proposals from the area to raise the visibility of PMA at a national, regional and global level, using its resources and tools to support its digital/av knowledge.
- Constantly communicate with RBP and HQ to receive guidelines, trends and good practices in digital/av communication for the visibility of PMA, its donors and strategic partners.
- Responsible for documenting the programs with photographs and videos, visits to the projects and any activity that requires support and visibility.
- Incorporate information pertinent to your competencies in reports to donors.
- Support internal administrative processes required by the team according to their management.
STANDARD MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
- Bachelor’s level studies in Communications, Graphic Design, Communication for development, Social Communication, Social Marketing or related studies in social and human sciences with a focus on communication and marketing.
Languages:
- Fluency in Spanish and English (Level C)
DESIRED EXPERIENCES FOR ENTRY INTO THE ROLE
Experience:
- At least 4 years of experience in communications or areas related to digital marketing or graphic design.

Remuneration SB-3/3 (UNDP Brazil Salary Scale) The supervisor will receive an amount of BRL 19.081,92 to be paid in three (3) instalments upon the presentation and approval of the following products: ● Payment 1 (33,34%): Upon delivery and approval of Product 1 (BRL 6.360,64) ● Payment 2 ((33,33%): Upon delivery and approval of Product 2 (BRL 6.360,64) ● Payment 3 (33,33%): Upon delivery and approval of Product 3 (BRL 6.360,64). Appointment against this post is on a local basis and only nationals from Brazil or external candidates who hold a permanent visa in Brazil may apply.
