Mission and objectives

The Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (UN Human Rights) is the leading UN entity on human rights. We represent the world’s commitment to the promotion and protection of the full range of human rights and freedoms set out in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

Context

The creative materials developed by the Online Volunteer will serve as important assets in amplifying the Unit’s outreach efforts, particularly through presentations and social media campaigns, to raise awareness on the rights of older persons.

Task description

We are seeking the support of 2 Online Volunteers to help us raise awareness and visibility on the rights of older persons. For this purpose selected Online Volunteers, under the supervision and guidance of the Rights of Older Persons Unit will :
– Identify and determine the target audience, including specific needs
– Develop draft outreach strategy
– Prepare and collect relevant material for outreach activities
– Support the creation of new material by advising on content and messaging
– Content creation, scripts and videos
– Advise on implementation
Selected Online Volunteers will be provided with information and material relevant and necessary to perform the task.
Online Volunteers will have the opportunity to network with the Rights of Older Persons Unit and develop and hone their skills in communications and related areas while contributing to positive change through raising awareness among the target community.
