Due to the nature of the role previous experience of working within an acute inpatient mental health hospital or setting is required.Working on the bank will allow you to work across our range of mental health and learning disability services as well as the opportunity to support our local acute hospitals Royal Bournemouth Hospital, Poole Hospital and Dorset County Hospital in Dorchester. You can choose the location and shift patterns that suit you.Shifts can become available up to six weeks in advance, as well as at short notice, so you can plan-ahead or pick up a shift on the day through our electronic system or by speaking with our lovely Bank team.As well as competitive rates of pay you’ll be eligible for many of the benefits offered to substantive staff. Main duties of the jobWhat do we need from you?

  • NVQ level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care or,
  • Recent experience within an inpatient mental health setting or significant experience within a care setting caring for patients with mental health conditions. Nursing home/care home experience is NOT sufficient for this role.
  • Someone used to working independently in a care setting with a minimum level of support
  • A minimum of three shifts per month
  • Completion and passing of the Prevention and Management of Violence and Aggression (PMVA) course. This is a five-day course and must be passed to work within our in-patient settings. (please see link)
  • Employment in this post requires an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, the cost of which will be covered by the Trust.
