About the role
Working under the direction of the Victorian State/Territory Manager, the Be You Consultant will work to support schools and education systems to implement and embed the Be You initiative.
You will support, coach, and consult with school communities to plan for a whole school approach to mental health promotion, prevention and early intervention with the goal of improving mental health outcomes for young people, staff and their families.
You will provide considered, evidence-based support for schools to plan for, respond to and recover from a death by suicide, or attempt, impacting the school community.
Who we’re looking for
headspace is seeking someone with
- A Bachelor level degree in any of the following: education (including qualification in adult education), public health promotion, community development, or an allied health discipline including psychology (clinical, counselling, educational and community), mental health nursing, occupational therapy, social work, or counselling.
- Comprehensive knowledge of the Tasmanian school system and youth mental health issues.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement skills.
- Confidence speaking with school leaders in a coaching/consultative role.
