We are seeking a number of highly motivated people across Australia, who are interested in becoming Organisers to be part of an exciting new program at UWU.

The program focusses on developing new and beginner organisers and will deliver structured training, mentoring and other support as we welcome new Union Organisers at UWU.

No prior Organising experience is required.

The roles are full-time, and upon successful completion of the program, will be ongoing positions.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

A Beginner Organiser’s key responsibilities will include to:

  • Build active and sustainable organising structures that contribute to achieving the Objects of the Union
  • Work to organising plans ensuring membership growth; member leadership and action; and winning industry power
  • Identify and support the development of delegates and members
  • Ensure that the Union’s values of equity, diversity and inclusion are upheld and promoted

KEY SELECTION CRITERIA

A Beginner Organiser demonstrates:

  • A passion and drive to improve workers’ lives and achieving the goals of the Union.
  • Good communication, messaging, rapport building skills both face to face and online.
  • An emerging ability to develop, motivate and educate others;
  • An ability to participate in the union’s political and social justice agenda;
  • An ability to plan and organise work and achieve outcomes.

To perform this job, you will also be required to have or obtain and maintain:

  • A valid driver’s licence; and
  • Right of Entry Permits

REMUNERATION

An attractive remuneration package will be offered to the successful applicant, which will include a:

  • A salary of $72,529 pa
  • A motor vehicle or motor vehicle allowance
  • 16% superannuation
  • 6 weeks annual leave plus 25% leave loading
